Your smile matters! Oral hygiene is key to maintaining oral health and the overall health of our body. Regular and proper care of teeth and gums can prevent many problems, such as tooth decay, gum disease, and bad breath. It is also important from an aesthetic point of view and a certain amount of our self-confidence.

If you want to learn how to improve your oral hygiene, here are 10 helpful tips:
- Regular tooth brushing
It may sound like a cliché, but it is the alpha and omega! There is nothing more important than regular tooth brushing. It is recommended to brush your teeth at least twice a day, morning and evening, really thoroughly without pressure, for at least two minutes. It is also important to observe the correct brushing time. You can brush your teeth immediately after eating a sweet meal. Although sweet foods increase the production of acids in the oral cavity, the mechanical removal of sugars from the teeth prevents them from damaging the enamel. However, we do not recommend brushing your teeth immediately after an acidic meal! Acidic foods temporarily soften the enamel, and therefore you could damage it even more by mechanically cleaning it with a brush and toothpaste. Wait at least 30 minutes for the saliva in the oral cavity to naturally neutralize itself, and then brush your teeth as usual. - Using dental floss
Dental floss is essential for removing food debris and plaque that accumulates between your teeth and under your gums. Don't underestimate it, it's not worth it! Use dental floss at least once a day, ideally before bed. - Using Mouthwash
Mouthwash can be an effective addition to brushing and flossing. Choose a mouthwash with antimicrobial properties and use it after each brushing. You will feel the difference in your fresh breath and overall feeling of cleanliness after just a few uses! - Avoid consuming sweet and sour drinks
Did you think it was a myth? In that case, we are disappointed! Sweet and sour drinks can really damage your teeth and cause tooth decay. Limit their consumption and if you drink them, brush your teeth or rinse with water afterwards. - Eat healthy
Would you believe it? Diet plays a key role in oral hygiene. Didn't we please you? Don't worry, it's not complicated at all. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables and foods rich in calcium and vitamins needed for healthy teeth and gums in your diet and your teeth will thank you - Don't use tobacco
Tobacco is unfortunately synonymous with a yellow smile. Additionally, smoking and chewing tobacco can cause serious oral health problems, including tooth decay, gum disease, and oral cancers. If we can give you any advice, quit smoking and chewing tobacco, your whole body will thank you! - Nepoužívajte tabak
Tabak je žiaľ synonymom pre žltý úsmev. Fajčenie a žuvanie tabaku môže navyše spôsobiť vážne problémy so zdravím ústnej dutiny, vrátane zubného kazu, ochorení ďasien a orálnych rakovín. Ak vám môžeme poradiť, prestaňte s fajčením a žuvaním tabaku, poďakuje sa vám celé vaše telo! - Carry some gum
Did we surprise you? Read on! Chewing gum or sugar-free gum can stimulate saliva production and remove food debris from your mouth. They are useful, for example, even if you can't currently brush your teeth after a meal. - Visit the dentist regularly
Regular visits to the dentist are important for maintaining oral health. You should have your teeth checked at least once every twelve months to prevent problems and maintain a healthy smile. Ultimately, your wallet will thank you. - Buy the right equipment
In addition to a quality toothpaste and toothbrush, invest in other oral hygiene tools, such as interdental brushes, tongue scrapers, and tongue cleaners. Don't skimp on your dental equipment. Only with the right tools can you achieve a beautiful and healthy smile!
